InspireTel careers

Junior VoIP &
Network Technician

A real opportunity to build a career in VoIP, networking, and IT support—by learning, solving, and doing.

Full-timeOn-sitePretoria + Gauteng sites

The honest job preview

Half desk.
Half dust.

This is not a support job that occasionally leaves the office. At least 50% of the work is physical, hands-on installation.

Expect tools, ladders, cables, ceilings, equipment, driving, and real client sites alongside configuration, troubleshooting, support, and documentation. If you enjoy seeing a physical job finished neatly and a technical problem properly solved, the mix is a good one.

What you will do

Work that teaches you by doing.

  • 01Install and set up VoIP phones, routers, switches, Wi-Fi equipment, and network cabling
  • 02Visit client sites around Gauteng and provide on-site IT support
  • 03Troubleshoot internet, phone, Wi-Fi, and network issues
  • 04Keep clear notes on jobs, client sites, faults, and fixes
  • 05Use AI tools to research issues, create documentation, and improve your workflow

What is non-negotiable

You can get yourself there

You are based in or near Pretoria, have a valid driver’s licence, and have your own reliable transport for the office and client visits.

You are ready for physical work

You are comfortable working full-time on-site and doing hands-on installation with tools, ladders, cables, ceilings, and client equipment.

Afrikaans and English

You can speak, read, and write clearly in both languages. Afrikaans does not need to be your first language, but you must be able to use it with clients.

Practical curiosity

You can use AI tools and explain a real way you used one to solve a problem, learn, create, automate, or improve your work.

Experience

Proof beats paper.

Formal IT qualifications are not required. We care more about what you have done, fixed, built, learned, or accomplished than certificates, diplomas, and degrees.

Useful, but not required

  • Fixing Wi-Fi, computers, phones, printers, or other tech for anyone who needed help
  • Building or repairing PCs, cabling, CCTV, IT support, or VoIP
  • Basic networking knowledge from work, study, projects, or self-learning
  • Exposure to MikroTik, Ubiquiti, Yealink, Grandstream, 3CX, Yeastar, or similar systems

A home project counts. Helping a family member counts. Learning something because it bothered you not to know counts. Tell us exactly what you did.

Your details

01Language at a client site

An Afrikaans-speaking client needs you to explain a fault and the next step without a colleague translating. Which best describes you today?

02Reply to the client
03Monday logistics

You need to collect equipment in Pretoria at 06:45, then be at a client in Centurion at 07:30. Which option reflects what you can reliably do each week?

04Your kind of work week

Which normal week sounds most satisfying to you—not just the one you think we want?

05The cable route

Eight new phones need network points. The neat cable route requires a ladder and safe ceiling access. What is your first move?

06Something real you have done
07Troubleshoot before you guess
08Leave a useful trail
09AI as a practical tool
