Yeastar launches NovoOne
On 24 September 2026, Yeastar launched NovoOne, a new cloud communications platform. Yeastar built it to run many small business phone systems efficiently on shared, highly resilient cloud infrastructure, with automatic failover and geo-redundancy built in.
For South African businesses, the headline is simple: small offices can now get a modern, feature-rich Yeastar phone system at a lower cost than a full Yeastar P-Series system. Yeastar is running NovoOne as a public beta, and InspireTel will offer it alongside P-Series once pricing is confirmed.
Why it matters for offices with fewer than five extensions
Very small teams have usually had two options. The first is mobile call forwarding or a basic hosted line, which is cheap but lacks a proper menu, ring groups, voicemail rules or reporting. The second is a full business PBX, which has every feature but is sized and priced for larger organisations.
NovoOne closes that gap. A two-, three- or four-person office can have a professional auto attendant, calls that ring the right people, after-hours rules, voicemail to email and mobile apps, without paying for advanced features it will never use. It remains a strong fit for teams of up to about ten extensions.
What you get with NovoOne
Yeastar lists more than 50 telephony features on NovoOne. For a small office, the ones that matter most are:
- Auto attendant (IVR) menus, ring groups and call queues
- Business hours, holiday and after-hours routing
- Call transfer, voicemail and voicemail transcription
- Mobile apps for iOS and Android, plus a web app for laptops
- Plug-and-play setup for more than 300 desk phone models, including Yealink
- Optional AI Receptionist that answers calls 24/7, handles routine questions and routes callers to the right person
- Optional AI call transcription and summaries
- Cloud hosting with an Africa region available, so voice stays close to your users
NovoOne vs Yeastar P-Series
NovoOne is not a replacement for P-Series. It is a leaner option that covers the essentials well, while P-Series keeps the advanced features that growing and larger businesses rely on.
| Feature | NovoOne | Yeastar P-Series |
|---|---|---|
| Best suited to | Small offices, especially 1–5 extensions (up to about 10) | Growing and larger businesses, typically 10+ extensions |
| Deployment | Cloud only | Cloud, or on-site appliance or software |
| Core call features | IVR, ring groups, queues, voicemail, business hours, transfers | Full feature set, including advanced queue, reception and reporting tools |
| User apps | Mobile (iOS and Android) and web | Linkus desktop (Windows and macOS), web and mobile |
| AI features | AI Receptionist and call transcription as optional add-ons | Available, depending on edition and plan |
| CRM integrations (Zoho, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics) | Not listed at launch | Available |
| WhatsApp, SMS and web chat in one inbox | Not listed at launch | Available |
| Contact centre tools and wallboards | Not listed at launch | Available on higher plans |
| Desk phones | Plug-and-play setup, including Yealink | Yealink auto-provisioning |
| Monthly price (ex VAT) | To be confirmed, expected to be lower for small offices | From R80 per extension (current published pricing) |
Features marked “not listed at launch” are not part of Yeastar’s published NovoOne feature set yet. Yeastar has said more capabilities are on the way, so we will update this comparison as the platform develops.
Pricing: awaiting confirmation
Because NovoOne has only just launched, we are still waiting for Yeastar to confirm final pricing. As soon as it is available, we will publish NovoOne pricing on our website and update this article.
In the meantime, our current published pricing starts from R80 per extension per month (ex VAT), plus SIP trunk and number costs. If you are a small office planning a move, speak to us now. We can map out your call flow and number porting, so you are ready to go once NovoOne pricing is confirmed.
When NovoOne is the better fit
NovoOne is likely the right choice if you:
- Have fewer than five users, or up to about ten
- Need a professional menu, ring groups and after-hours rules, but not contact-centre tools
- Work mostly from mobile phones or laptops
- Want the lowest monthly cost for a proper business phone system
When P-Series is the better fit
P-Series is likely the right choice if you:
- Have more than ten users, or expect to grow quickly
- Need CRM integration, WhatsApp and SMS in one inbox, or detailed queue reporting
- Want the Linkus desktop app or an on-site PBX
- Run a busy reception or small call centre
InspireTel’s view
We have deployed Yeastar since 2017, and we see NovoOne as good news for small businesses. Until now, the smallest offices often had to choose between a basic setup and paying for a system built for much larger teams. NovoOne gives them a proper Yeastar phone system at a price that makes sense for their size.
P-Series remains our recommendation for growing and larger businesses that need its advanced features. Whichever platform suits you, we still handle the setup, number porting, Yealink phones and support after go-live.
